Managing Seasonal Allergies by keeping your Immunity System strong

  1. Digestive support.

Your digestive support plays an important role in the feeding all the tissues, cells, and organs in the body. Eating less processed foods & sugar and focusing on more whole foods is always preferred. But there are also other simple things that boost your digestive health such as making sure you’re cooking with spices which act as a fuel to your digestive system. Eating at regular times and not skipping meals keeps your digestive system well calibrated. And not taking in too much liquids, especially iced drinks, with meals prevents you from inadvertently putting out your digestive system.

2. Exercise. Doing exercise not only promotes your immunity system but also enhances digestion and strengthens your tissue metabolism. Do not do exercise beyond your capacity as it could result in weakening of your immune system.

3. Proper hydration. It plays an important role not only in the whole body but also in preventing the body’s membranes from getting dry. Excess dryness can trigger a response in the body to create more protective fluids such as sinus mucus to counter the dryness. Lack of hydration can create in building up of the toxins that can lead to diseases.

4. Stress support Stress plays a major part in depleting of the immune system. Breathing exercises are recommended to reduce stress in Ayurveda. Deep breathing is one of the best ways to lower stress in the body. This is because when you breathe deeply, it sends a message to your brain to calm down and relax. The brain then sends this message to your body.

5. Proper sleep Researches show that people do best when they get a 6-8 hours sleep a day.Not enough sleep can give negative affects to the immune system. Having a healthy bedtime routine can mean- turning off electronics at least sixty minutes before bed, doing some gentle body stretches and taking five minutes to do deep breathing.

6. Massage Massage not only makes you feel relaxed but also helps in feeling energized throughout the day. Its helps in clearing off the stagnant lymph and toxins of the body and builds overall immunity system.

Are you drinking enough water?

There is no denying that sometimes a single glass of water can be more nerve-soothing than a cup of coffee. Inspite of this, many of us don’t manage to drink enough water every day. Be it our hectic schedules or scarcity of the resource, drinking limited amount of water can be harmful to our bodies. However, many of us don’t even realize that they are depriving themselves of water. Asking ourselves that ‘Am I drinking enough water?’ will never fetch the right answer.

Therefore, you need to ask yourself the following questions to know if your daily intake of water sufficient?

  1. Is your skin dry?

Since skin being the largest organ in the body, the effects of drinking less amount of water can be first seen on it. If your skin isn’t hydrated properly, it will turn dry. A lack of water means a lack of sweat, which leads to a body’s inability to wash away excess dirt and oil accumulated throughout the day.

  1. Are your eyes dry?

Now it is obvious that more organs than mouth, throat or skin will be affected. Without water, your tear ducts dry up and you will have bloodshot eyes. This could cause more trouble if you wear contacts or wear glasses on a daily basis.

  1. Do you have joint pain?

Not many of us know that our cartilage and spinal discs are made of 80% water. It helps to keep the bones grinding from each other. By keeping our body hydrated, your joints are ready to experience any sudden movements.

  1. Do you stay sick longer?

Water flushes out harmful toxins from the body. But if you go into a dehydration mode, the body starts sucking up the stored water from other organs or blood. And that will open up Pandora’s box.

  1. Are you experiencing digestive problems?

Water lubricates the digestive system. Without enough water, the amount and strength of mucus inside your stomach increases, giving way to stomach acid harm you. This leads to heartburn, indigestion and constipation.

  1. Are you aging prematurely?

The amount of water our bodies retain naturally decreases as we age. Hence, the older we get, the more amount of water we should drink. While premature aging is more evident on the outside, the damage it does to our insides will ultimately be felt over time.

So, pour yourself a glass of water now!
